Q. What is the exam format for the Real Estate test?

A. The Real Estate exam is a multiple-choice exam comprised of 75 questions.

Q. How many correct answers do I need in order to pass?


A. The passing requirement is set at 70%, equivalent to 52.5 points. Considering that it is a multiple-choice test with four options per question, you can guess one-fourth of the questions, which amounts to another 13 points.

Therefore, the combined number of correct answers needed to pass is 39.5.

Q. How long do I have to complete the Real Estate exam?

A. Students have up to one and a half hours to complete the Real Estate exam.

Q. Where can I find the schedule and register for the state exam?

A. Click Here to create an account with the state. Once you log in to your account, you'll be able to see exam schedules and register for the exam. Select "Initial sales exam", not brokers.

Q. I am already licensed in New York, how do I get licensed in New Jersey?

A. If you are already licensed in NY you can apply for an education waiver. This will allow you to only take the state exam without having to take the real estate course.
